Performance Cams?

Trying to squeeze some more juice from my 4.6 and not wanting to go down the FI or engine swap route. I honestly don't know anything about cams except that some of them give you a lopey idle and that the powerband changes. Do cams increase power noticeably or are they mainly for sound? I'm guessing they drop MPG's because they allow more fuel and air to go into the engine, right? And can I run them on the stock programming temporarily until I can get it dyno tuned?

Just looked and Ford Racing doesn't offer cams for 2 valve V8's, only 3 valves. So far the best brand looks to be Comp, but I really don't know.

From my limited knowledge , some need a tune. Others I think don't but I think a tune would be best

These trucks suffer by the drive by wire system and the fact theyre heavy. A tune is a good thing and definitely wouldnt hurt. I know bankrpt did cams and had his truck dyno tuned. Wonder what e-mail tunes for cams would be like? I'd love for my truck to have the sick lope at idle

Anyone have any opinions on Cushman cams? They seem pretty well known in the Mustang world.

Cushman used to be associated with VT Racing Engines when they were in business. They actually built the motor that's in my truck. If you contact him he can probably help you decide which one would be best for your truck.

Well I guess I'm down to these three by looking at various mustang forums. Kind of leaning towards the Cushman's just because of the reviews and price.

My Stage 1 work with the stock valve springs, which will save you some dough! I also have free shipping right now with code "ship4free". Let me know if you have any other questions!

I wouldn't waste a dime unless they were going into performance heads. Stage FAST...
