I've had my 98 F-150 at the dealer twice now cuz the check engine light came on and the code read that there was a leak in the EVAP system. Last night the check engine light came on again and I can only guess that its the same problem. The dealer does nothing other than reset the light and drive the truck 2 miles down the road and then tell me everything is ok. I'm getting a little damn sick and tired of this going on and no one seems to wanna do anything about it. I live in Wichita,Kansas and only have 3 dealerships to go to and quite frankly none of them are worth a crap so I don't have much choice on where to take it. I'm on the verge of trading the damn thing off for a GMC because its driving me up the wall!!!! Anyways my question is have any of you had a problem with your EVAP system and also do you know a way I can light a fire under the dealers *** to get them to get off their lazy butts and actually try to figure out whats wrong? Reporting them to the better business bureau and calling Ford doesn't seem to do any good. Oh yeah....My gas cap has been on tight all 3 times so I know it can't be that.

 

call the ford customer care center. I know this seems useless but the dealerships that you went to which did nothing will be called by ford and told to resolve the issue. I had a problem with my dealer who I felt was blowing off my concerns about something, and when I called ford customer care, they called him and he had to call me to deal with the problem!
