2008 f150 different?

I have an 08 f150 with a 5.4. I'm trying to replace a vct solenoid. I've read all about it and it sounds simple enough. Except it seems that the 08 model has a different port for the solenoid than the previous years. Looking like the valve cover has to come off to remove the solenoid. Anyone ever had to deal with this or know a trick or something to avoid the extra work?

I don't know if the solenoid is a different part, but starting in 2007 Ford no longer made the seal between the solenoid and the valve cover removable. All 07 and later 5.4 need the valve cover removed in order to replace the solenoid.
