Coolant bypass filter set up.
Coolant bypass filter set up.
Hello y'all,
I was wondering if anyone has attempted to make a home made coolant filter kit for the f150. My truck is a 2009 with the 5.4 in it.I think this would be great to put on trucks that have the eco boost engines since the turbos are cooled by the coolant. I have been looking in to doing one but i need a little guidance on how to do one. I have seen that all of the diesel trucks have them. I am going to do a coolant flush here soon and i wanted to do this while i was going to flush the system. I have the premium gold coolant in my truck. I was looking inside my degas bottle and there is all this nasty looking stuff in there. I know that ford has had a problem with the coolant breaking down.I know that i have to tap into one of the heater hoses and i am going to assume that i will attach the other hose to the degas bottle. But i don't know which side is the inlet for the heater core. Any help or encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pictures of my coolant bottle and the heater hoses and the connections.
Thanks,
Nicholas
