Drive Time cycle after repair

Does anyone know what the drive time cycle is after a repair.
I changed the gas cap and I had the code erased. After waiting an hour in line at the emissions testing they told me that the truck was not ready. I had to keep driving it normally for an extended amount of time.

The second part of this question is, is the drive time different due to the type of repair?

Is there anything that can be done to speed up the drive time. I was told that I could not just take a one day road trip. It had to be normal day driving.

I drive a 2001 F-150, 4x4, 5.4L, 150,000miles

thanks

It can take a couple weeks for the evap monitor to be ready. Get your own scanner and periodically check it, it's ready when the P1000 code goes away.

There is a way to force it, but it's pretty involved:

Thanks GLC,
But I really did not want to buy a scanner to use once a year or so.
I was hoping there was a certain amount of miles I had to drive it.
My tags expired last month and I just wanted to know how long before I can take it back to emissions. I already went once and after the second time I will have to take it to a different place.

Thanks again.

I just called another Ford dealer to ask the same question on drive cycle time on my issue. The service man said that it is not miles, I have to drive it for one week, 5 to 10 miles a day of normal driving, with no less than 1/4 tank and no more than 3/4 of tank of gas.
I thought that was odd but if thats what it is..

You can buy an OBD2 code reader for less than 50 bucks. Never hurts to have one in case you ever trip a CEL.
