The bad part about gettng it back was when i went to turn the key on i discovered he had the key on and ran the battery all the way down so I'm sure it cleared any codes it may have had. cranks now, stumbles and rumbles but no check engine light has come back on. will idle but not try to accept throttle without killing.

The gas station who sold you the bad gas should reimburse you for repairs. Contact them.

The tank has to come down unless you disconnect the filler pipe from the tank and stick a siphon hose in. There's an antisiphon trap in the pipe. If you can't get under the truck I don't think you will be able to do that.

X2, why are you dealing with this on your own? I can guarantee if you got bad gas at that Sunoco station that there were others as well. They should cover all the costs plus give you a good tank of gas.

Actually its easier than that, -MUCH easier. At the back of the tank there's a vent. You pop that vent (5 minutes) and siphon from there. You turn that vent counter clockwise 1/4 turn and it pops out giving access.

How easy is it to get to that vent compared to the filler neck?

Being on a fixed income with limited resources is why I'm trying to fix the issue. I called and talked to the owners. When asked the question regarding any other problems that he was aware of he was quite for a few before saying look, I will refund you the fuel money if that's your problem. I will not pay for repairs or towing unless you can prove to me my fuel was the only fuel in the tank and that can;t be he said because your drove it in here didn't you? At thatpoint if I could have traveled thru the phone line I would have choked him till he turned blue. I replied I would be in touch soon and he replied bring me the reciept and get your 74$ back, maybe that can help you fix it........

I was correct in thinking, concerning the codes. Once I charged the battery back up it had cleared any codes . So whatever codes it had from the intial problem I lost. I have cranked it 8 times or more and the ck engine light never has come on until today it thru a P0353 while it was stumbling right before it quit again. One bad coil is not the issue here. How much pressure should be on the fuel lines when you change a fuel filter? Doesn't seem like I have any pressure at all, fuel is in the filter but not enough pressure in lines for fuel to spray out or anythinglike that. Is that normal or should there be alot of pressure on the lines when changing the fuel filter?

Easy Shmeasy w/WD40. Like I said, 1/4 turn, pops right out. Nothing else you have to do really. Works great when I don't feel like going up town with the gas can. When the lawn needs cut.

Is it on top of tank in the back? Asking so I'll know where to look when I can crawl underneath her. Thanks for the tip, Truly appreciate it.

Check your owners manual and trade out the fuel pump relay with one you don't have to have to run it home. Check fuel pump pressure and fuel filter. If that doesn't work check that you are getting voltage to the fuel pump module. If so pump is bad, pull tank down and replace the fuel pump.

2004's do not have a fuel pressure test port, and fuel pressure is controlled by the FPDM.

From the language the station owner used, it makes me think he was adding water to the gas to thin it out and perhaps added a bit too much. Call that state's department of weights and measures and ask about other complaints and tell them what you think happened.
