I'm looking to maybe buy a 2010 f-150 XLT crew cab-2 wheel dr. w/ 30000mi. w/ a 4.6 motor (I know nothing about) mileage, reliability, This comes w/ tow package, have not got details on tran. or gears yet. I intend to haul a scout trl grossed at maybe 3000lbs a couple of times through out the year. This could be my 3rd ford p/u in 20 years.

Not sure you want the 4.6 for towing.

 

Looks like a solid truck, make sure you get a detailed maintenance record. That 4.6 is a rock solid motor, however, I have to agree with 'Bluejay' it's a little weak for towing much. If that doesn't bother you then that's ok. Good Luck

 

The 4.6 3 valve is an excellent towing motor with the 6 speed tranny. Heck, I tow 3000# with my old 4.2 V6 so even if it's the 2 valve with 4 speed it will tow that fine.
