Help !! I was driving back from a trip in my 96 F150 4.9l 6 and the check engine light came on. I pulled over to check under the hood and everything seemed fined. Tried to start it up and it would not fire compeletly. It would kind of catch and just sputter for a while before it died. I notice this same problem when trying to start it on occasions before but never a consistent problem. Today the check engine light is still on and it start just fine? Otherwise the thing runs great. Any suggestions?? And is there any way to get the codes to diagnose the problem?? Thanks..

 

It could be just about anything!!! When's the last time you did a complete tune-up?? Or checked all your fluids, including transmission? Even your muffler and pipes should be looked at for leaks or holes. Look first for reg maintaince type items and lets hope it's one of these.
