Well, don't this beat all! Teh bloody gas gage reads BACKWARDS!! Hubby messed with the wires trying to get the duel tank switch to work, now the gas gage reads backwards, starts at empty, goes towards full as we use fuel.. *massive sigh* Any pointers out there??

Does the low fuel light come on when the tank is full?

I would leave it if the light works correctly. This could end up being a new mod on this site.

 

What problem?

With the gas mileage this F150's get that is the most uplifting and psychologically satisfying modification I've ever heard of!

p.s. I make my truck payments 'online'. Do you think your husband could fiddle with the program so that the next payment is my last one?

Reverse the gas gauge wires.

Ok.. yea, that makes sense..now, is there a Ford site online that we can find a proper wireing scamatic? The ones we find in the books don't seem to be working. I would hazard a guess, and say the previous owner of this vehicle did some rewireing on his own. Aside from making a whole new wireing harness and starting from scratch I don't see any other options.

You have a pre-97 truck right? If so, I cant be of any help other than do a search on yahoo. or, try www.ford-diesel.com they know about wiring.

 

Ok, I posted over at ford-diesel.com They said just reverse the wires, or that the sender is backwards. Hope this helps.

 

hey atleast you can look at your gauges and see. Mine float up and down however they want to. Luckily we have dual tanks so, if one runs out we always keep teh other one full. Seems like all the people I know have broken fuelks gauges in their trucks.
