Mine had it and I replaced the cable. In fact if you go to a parts store have the truck build date handy as there is a redesigned cable that was used on these trucks during production after a certain month.
Mine as well, it was bad, throughout that loop it made just before the starter connection. However, to date I've never had a starting issue. I've been thru 3 starters though. Stumbled upon the bad pos cable just pulling maintenance and cleaning up connections. Each time doing this, I broke the damn starter every time, @ that 10mm nut connection. I was very careful second time around, then I blinked, SNAP! Ahh-CRAP... Bad design as well. Fortunately these starters are warrantied for life, no questions asked. Even third party shops would take in a Bosch Original OEM and give you another. Not just any other, no rebuilds , a new one instead, = Bosch original. Ford revised that two or three times. My last had a pig-tail at that solenoid connection already in place lol. Anyway, -since 97, these starters are internally and mechanically very solid. Probably would outlast the vehicle itself in most cases, except for the solenoid stud breaking off.

BTW- OP -I posted a few diagrams in another thread that may help or assist - https://www.f150online.com/forums/v8...t-crank-6.html

Seized compressor ? Yea, that can happen and it does from the vehicle sitting; -not being started occasionally. What did you do , -remove the serp belt to determine?
