got rid of the chain slap, replaced the trickflow chain tensioners <- junk. now it sounds like a lash adjuster,trickflow as well, is not priming up after 10 minutes at idle

It sounds like a continuous rotation.... something riding on one of the chains, or a chain riding against something. If one of the new tensioners overextended or got out of alignment, oil pressure would be lost.
im thinking lifters, its coming from the valve covers more than the timing cover. so it seems that Trickflow lash adjusters and chain tensioners are not to OEM standards, like they made the claim.
so far everything trickflow that is on my new motor has been nothing but failure or a problem

got it fixed, turns out my builder forgot to install two small 1/8th in plugs in both front and back of the passenger side head. i got the rear one installed a while back after the first start up it leaked a lot of oil. but as it turns out the drivers head had 65psi of oil pressure at idle and the passenger side had 0. i pulled my old heads off of the stock motor and found where the missing plug went. it was a pain to get in buy dad and i got it in. we had to cut down a 3/16in allen wrench down to the curve to get it in and tight. but it was a lot easier than pulling the head and all of the studs.




Those plugs were always a source of headaches. They get crossthreaded and leak, they get installed behind the chain tensioners and prevent oil pressure to the tensioner and a loose chain with noise and of course they get left out and leak. I still have a handful of cutdown 8mm allen wrenchs that I used to take with me to the Ford assembly plants when I went for noise concerns or external rear engine oil leaks. They worked good,slow but good. lol.
