05 5.4 Starter Trouble

I recently replaced the starter on my truck do to a grinding noise and it not catching. It has recently started grinding again. Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to change this and not have anymore problems.

Check the flexplate for damaged teeth.

When I had it replaced in July he saved the starter for me to see. the teeth on it were very ground down.

Sure sounds like a bunch of bad teeth on the flexplate.
