Top of engine on the intake manifold, back driver side of engine. Should have a green vaccuum line coming off of it heading to the throttle body. The egr valve has a canister style top to it.

Don't worry about the stupid thing. I mean sounding as such lol. What's stupid is NOT asking. Quickest way to learn? (Ask). Best way? (Search bar).

The EGR valve, -referred to as the "saucer thing". These are always attached to the plenum or throttle body elbow(same). Not the intake. Green vac line is correct. Which routes from the EVR.

NOTE: When you have determined a EGR problem. 90% of the time, the problem is NOT with the EGR valve itself.

-jbrew is correct. I had an error code on my truck saying that my EGR valve was bad. After replacing that I still had the error code, and I found out that the problem was a faulty DPFE sensor.

Codes do not say "bad EGR valve". They say things like "EGR insufficient flow". Actually they say "Pxxxx" and you have to look up that P-number to see what it really means and get a troubleshooting chart.

I like that the mechanics and techs here tell you how to define the codes. Something to pay attention to.

Yes, we really prefer that people post the actual P-codes, not what the dude at Autozone tells you they mean.

Sorry, it has been about a year since I saw the code and I couldn't remember exactly what it said. But ya, I agree that seeing the codes are alot more helpful.
