The 94+ Mustangs, 93+ Camaros, Lincoln Mark8 and Towncars and 94+ crown Vics all have great fans.

The mark8 will out flow them all on high, but it will take special wiring needs.

I have the Crown vic and installed CJs Mark8 on low. Both flow more air than the 4.6 needs.

Here is the link to wire up the Mark8 fan on high:

You could also run 8 gauge wire to the 75amp relay and the fan, then control the relay with like the Hayden controller.

I did go back and between the battery and controller, added a 35amp circuit breaker for added protection.

Question Okay, how about 5.4l specific?

I've read almost everything I can find here, but before I go trying to find a crown vic fan and hayden controller I have to ask. Is this a good combination for my setup?

1997 F-150 Supercab, 5.4l, auto, towing package w/ trans cooler, 130amp alternator. No other mods currently, but planning on a K&N or Air-raid FIPK and Gibson exhaust.

After all my research here, I am leaning toward the crown vic fan but would greatly appreciate knowledgeable, experianced folks opinions on my course of action. If you don't want to reply publicly, feel free to e-mail.

Thanks very much to Matt90Gt, Launchinlitelariat. and others for your posts!

matt. you ahole - i started reading this post and was going to reply and you stoled all my lines!

hot rod did a fan story about a year ago and on a built chevy 350, i think the electric fan made 45 h.p. more. even some of the aftermarket regular fans made more h.p. than a stock one.
