Do yourself a favor and do a search of the site and get a part# for the 2.2" rad. Call around to a different dealership's parts depts and see if they can get that part # for you. If they can, and I suspect they will be able, DEMAND the correct radiator for your truck, after all, you paid extra money for it.... It really sounds like your dealer is trying to pull a fast one on you to get you out of their hair. When you see the size difference in those 2 radiators , you'll understand why the fight is worth the effort. Good luck...

Cool

Verrry interesting... I've only had a 2.20/2.02" radiator for six weeks, and it's a collectible! Where can I get a couple of those "Limited Edition" stick-ons for my 2001 XL

BBB, keep us posted on the new, improved cooling upgrade kit. I have no idea what the modification will be, but if it's a plastic propellor that mounts behind the grill, I want one. You can never have too much super engine cooling!

Good luck with your truck.

I thought the one for the new 2001 trucks was the 1.42". Is that what the svc advisor means to install? There are details somewhere on this board, more fins, etc etc.

OK , here it is. Call your friendly local parts pusher at Ford and ask for a F75Z*8005*GA radiator. My truck is a 2000 model and that is what the Ford sourcebook said that it SHOULD have. I'm not too sure what came with the 2001's. Do your research carefully and demand what you have paid for, accept nothing less. The 2.2" radiator is the only one that is a double core. The 1.42" one has a single core but more fins per inch. I'll take a double core, Thank you very much!
