Slight hesitation in 5.4

Since I have installed an Air Force One, and can now hear the air rush in, I have noticed a lag between the time I tap the gas pedal and when the engine snaps to attention. There is a very brief sucking noise (I guess when the throttle body opens?) and then the power comes on.

I have heard about an adjustment to a throttle sensor? Can this have anything to do with it?

I also have an aftermarket exhaust and there is lack of noise from the exhaust for this *brief* period of time. Could it be loss of back pressure from the aftermarket exhaust? I.e. having to punch it to build up necessary pressure and then all is well?

Also have a diablosport chip in it, but it did this before the chip...

Thanks for any ideas.

Ken

Unhappy 5.4 hesitation

I was wondering if I was the only one with this problem on my 01Screw. I'm at a dead stop, at a stop-light, then go to accelerate, and there's a small stumble or hesitation. It's very intermittent though, it still annoys me. Although I was driving last night and the truck drove great, wierd huh.

I also have a very noticeable lag with mine. I just recently purchased an '01 s'crew 4x4 with a 5.4. Symptoms same as the original post...hear the rush of air, then it revs up. Kind of annoying.

Same problem

My 97 Expy does the same thing: when it comes to stop light sometimes
hesitates just a bit. Any ideas?

I was considering the Air Force One and the FIPK. Is anyone having this issue with the FIPK, I might steer clear of the AF1 for now, unless there is an easy fix....

Mine is stock. 102000 miles though, so maybe a sensor problem? I'm hoping someone else has found a solution to this, if it isn't just the nature of this engine.

Boy it could be a lot of things!

But since they all seem to be 5.4's I would guess a TPS or a slow/sicky/about to go bad IAC or even a CPS

I have also heard that if the PCM has not been reset in a long while this "Hesitation" will happen. When you reset the PCM and then start her back up let her idle for atleast 5-7 long minutes.

anyone else?
