Gas smell thru vents when heater is on

Hello!
I have a 2005 5.4 Triton F-150 with 99K on it.
Recently I have started to smell gas fumes coming thru the heater vents inside the truck when I have it on. When the heater if turned off then I don’t smell anything inside the cab. Also when I am driving I don’t smell anything either, it only seems to be there when sitting at an idle. I talked to some guys at AutoZone and they seem to think it was related to my EVAP system, possibly a leak and that’s why I am getting the smell inside. They recommended a smoke test to see if that’s what was causing the issue. Also while looking through the forums here I seen a post about a clicking sound coming from the engine that seems to be related to a vapor pressure sensor. I also have a clicking sound coming from the engine when idling as well. Wondering if the smell and the clicking are related??
Other than that the truck is running great. No loss of power or anything else that is noticeable. I have never had any major issues with this vehicle and I am not sure what is going on with it now. If anyone has any suggestions or might have some info on this, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Rob

you might want to check the torque on the spark plugs....might be a loose one....25 ft/lbs....just a speculation

88racing,
Great advice! I did not mention in my original post that I recently changed out the spark plugs too (that was a crazy ordeal with the stupid design). Anyway... thanks for the info. I will check that!

I had the same problem after I replaced spark plugs. I torqued the plugs again, and checked every fuel rail conection. Smell is gone now.
