2002 4.6 auto ( missing under accel ,but not all the time). Help!!
Hello, had my plugs changed at 100,000 miles
At 102,000 I went out to truck one morn and all t would do is spin over ,
Tried t 2 times, on third time it cranked ran great for 2 weeks then all of a sudden one day, it started to miss under accel. Then at idle, it,ll do it couple of days then, it'll run good couple days, so I took it in to shop, it pulled a code
Po230. Fuel pump circuit open? Replaced relay, didn't fix it, replaced fuel filer, didn't fix it either, the fuel pressure is at minimal 28 lbs.
Does all this lead to a new fuel pump? I love the truck but getting sick of this problem, ( when I cut the key on, it doesn't sound as loud as it once did)
Fuel pump that is,
What's your opinions?
And is it easy to drop tank and replace?
Thanks for reading.

P.S. The machine he ad hooked to my truck was show 3 different cylinders miss firing due to it running lean, it gave him indication that it might be low fuel pressure causing it.
What you think?

Well just spent $225 on new fuel pump assembly, installed it cleared codes and went on test run, it run smooth, then after 2 miles started is missing again, i checked codes again and it was p1000 not enough driving time to get a code, so what else? You can floor it and it runs great, ease into throttle and it runs great give it 3/8 of the pedal and it misses, I have no clue
Plugs were changed and went back with motor craft plugs,

What's your fuel pressure now? Does it go up about 5 psi when you disconnect the vacuum line from the FPR?
You may have one or more bad coils. Did you use dielectric grease in the boots when you changed the plugs?

New at autozone are 50 each. I've beeen running Grannettelli hot streets for about 2 yrs they're 250.00 for the set. Just lost one of them about a month ago and put in a stock one, I'm going to change all of them back to stock as they go bad.
No coil packs on that truck, - just coils are used with COP ignition systems.
The best route is to use those Hungary coils, -Visteon/Motorcraft. Sold on eBay and Amazon. I believe they are $160-$180 for a complete set. Just get the correct ones.
These are original OEM's. They also sell new Motorcraft tagged sets here and there now, you have to look around, but they're out there.

That was ballsy lol. Hey, you got two years out of them without a prob. - That's good for those!
I had already bought some on eBay before I read your post sorry , I got the coils from global automotive, 10 coils, 79.98 , lifetime warranty, how often do these go out?
They had great feedback, and I searched and a lot of people on this website have used them, I,m short on cash , so I hope they work!
