I'm going to tell them: It's not under warranty, I'm paying for the 'diagnostic', just check/test all injectors.

Betcha they come back and tell you that the plugs need to be changed before diagnostics are valid.

How would spark plugs effect a fuel injector test?

It's gotta be the injectors!

P0305 cleared this morning. Just went out for coffee filters for the morning and got P0306! (Both stored in my scan gauge) Now I'm sure it's the whole bank of driver side injectors. Appointment with FORD @ 0830.

Not sure, I know they both work together to make boom boom.

Well, I hope they replace them all for yuh. They probably won't. - They can be cheap like that, - plus that will get you back there. To do it right, you might have to find the remainder on eBay or whatnot. Or just wait until it happens again and do this all over.

Exactly!
Ford: " injectors flow tested good. We'd like to replace the COP's and plugs on 2,5,6."

Me: "No thanks, I'll be right down to pick up my vehicle & the printout of the diagnostic fuel injector test"

Ford: How long before you are coming to pick it up? (hmmmm?? )

Me: about an hour...

As I thought.

Replace the plugs. If it's still rough, start replacing cops. At least you know you aren't going to hydrolock the thing.

They said flow was even in all injectors. test was good. They said coils in 5 & 6 failed diagnostic. While I have the $ I'm going to do sp515's and visteon coils in all 8.

All plugs replaced. Just replace front four coils 1,2,5,6, (which covers misfire I was getting 5,6,2) and it's still missing if I accelerate quickly. I'll get the back four as soon as I'm able to reach back that far.

I wasn't looking forward to doing the back 4 coils (2 each side)since I just had Hernia surgery last Friday. Sitting in the house and just knowing I still have a misfire/rough running when I accelerate hard and 4 fresh coils waiting to go in. I could resist no longer. Disconnected battery, computer and got busy (slowly). Took me about an hour with my limited movement/strength. Started it up, put away tools etc while it reached op temp. Took it for a ride. Got to say it felt like it NEVER HAS! Even when I drove it off the lot in 2005! I can't believe how crappy I was letting this run for so long...

Here is what doesn't make sense: The coils that were producing codes were replaced the other day and I still had the missing issue. Today I replace the remaining coils and voila! Better than new. I'm one happy sob.

Same thing happened here. Truck felt like a heavy slug. It wasn't missing at the time. I got on eBay and purchased a set of injectors ($65) and a set of Motorcraft coils (Yellow Tags $60).

After the install, wow, what a change. The truck felt like it lost 2000 lbs lol. It actually felt responsive, light, quick, fast....VERY noticeable difference.

The parts for my 5.4L were very cheap and new. They came from a Romeo 4.6L crate engine from the plant. - Take offs/never used. They could not be sold as new, being take offs.

Anyway, - I thought the same as well. - Can't believe how crappy I was letting this run for so long...

Hell , I didn't know something could be done about it back then...Do now.

All the previous symptoms are back. Took it out for a run and got P0305 and a steady CEL. I really don't believe that they (Ford) did a complete injector test ie: taking rail out and placing injectors in beakers. How could it still be missing with new coils and plugs?

Internal damage/ compression problems.

Check the injectors yourself.
