Need Help With broken Plug

Hi Guys

I am at the end of my plug replacement on my 05 5.4l I succesfully got 7 plugs out with out breaking but I broke the last one. It is the one on the driver side at the back. I have the lisle 65600 tool on hand and I have tried to exract the plug as the instructions tell me too. The problem I am having is the puller doesn't want to grab the piece that is broke off. I have a picture of the plug that broke. I some how don't think I have pused the porclien piece down far enough. I have tried several times and the last time I tried I started to hear the porclein snap so I stopped very quickly. Is there any suggestions?

Keep Going

You need to push the tip farther. You may get a few fine fragments falling off into the cylinder, but you clean it out with a small house ducked taped to the end of you shop vac. you must push the tip in until it breaks the metal cage.

I broke all 8 I had to literally tighten the pusher until it would not tighten any further the porcelain will actually break the u shape at the bottom of the plug. When you pull the bell out that's on the extractor just look to see if any porcelain is missing. I actually had a piece break off and go inside no worries got the shop vac cleaned the inside of the vac very good (so I could see if I got the porcelain out) stuck the hose over the spark plug hole had the wife turn the vac on did that for about 45 seconds. I opened the vac up and there was the missing piece.

I removed the air intake and throttle body and had a straight clean shot without using any mirror or swivels also remember the extractor is left handed threads
