well, i have the front cover about ready to come off, just need to get the crank pulley off and it should come off.

as for the timing chain, do i just need to remove the chain tensioner and guide and slid the chain out of the way (after indexing it) ?

just have to pull the head bolts out and it should be off!

probably need to buy a new timing chain, or at least a new tensioner and guide, the previous one wore through the guide and the tensioner has a nice 20 degree angle from the chain running across a corner of it.

Hey, did Joey (built54) sell that lightning engine yet ? Just curious. If not, I bet you could pick that up cheaper at this point.

i didn't remember the heads being so heavy! it was a sob to get out by myself. I couldn't get the damn oil level indicator tube out for nothing, after a few yanks on the head, it wiggled its way out or something, lol!

i'm not sure if he did or not, but i plan on getting a MHP shortblock with arp hardware and i'll just pick up some used heads and doing the valvetrain myself.

Yea , installing the Big-Sert will be the quick and easy part of this job. The rest is a little more time consuming.

Yeah, it should be a breeze since i have the head off. Putting it all back together is the fun part!

Just waiting for money to clear to galaxy and he said he'll ship it out. After that, I should be ready to put it all back together and get another 200k out of it!
