Angry What a DOG!

Hope somebody can help me out here. O.K Here goes. First off my tranny is an automatic. When I go to get on it, an shifts from 1st to 2nd, she dies, then starts to slowwwwwwwwwwly build up power again. Bogs big time. 3rd and overdrive are no problem. This is killing me. What is the problem? I'm sure you guys know how much ground you lose. While I'm bogging their pulling away! Maybe I don't have the right mod or mods. This would be a good question for Neal. I need help guys. I know it's a 4X4, but damn this is ridiculous. You would think for what mods I got, I wouldn't have a problem. But getting whooped up on is a problem. I can't let the FORD congregation and my friends on this site down. F-150 Ram Air needs imput. Thanks guys.

Unhook the trailer!! Just kidding.

I had the same engine in my '99 and occasionally had the same problem.

Just curious but how many miles and when was the last time you drained and changed the tranny filter? I know when I used to to tow a lot with the 4.6L I needed to change at least the fluid every 15,000 miles or so. By the time I hit 45,000 miles I had changed it twice. If I didn't, I had more hesitation between ****ing from 2nd into 3rd. Only once in a while was there some hesitation between 3rd and 4th. Also, did you try turning off the OD? Any difference?

Ramair,

Loose the trailer and your acceleration will get better. Ok now lets get serious. Contact Mike Troyer and go over your mods. If your tranny is shifting too low he can cure it. His # is 540-862-9515. Call him it is $ well spent. BTW the 4.6 with Auto is inherrantly a dog. The peak torque is at 3200 rpm. Not a good place to be in a truck.
