plug wire review, do I need the expensive ones?

Does it matter if I purchase the more expensive [lug wires or can I get the cheaper ones. Bosch is $70 and the other at auto zone is $40

I was reading on the forum and some say to get auto lite or motor craft. My truck only has 146,000 and its missing. At idle is has a mild to hard hit but does not move off of 6 g's. I changed the plugs 4 months ago and one wire fell off after hitting a hard bump.

1997 F15- 4.6 liter

Motorcraft plugs and wire are the way to go. Rock auto has them at a discount.. if you used any thing else that either your problem or its going to be..

Coil wire brackets

Thanks Bro,

There are brackets that the wires run through , do they come apart or do you have to break them? I have to get batter lighting in my garage, I could not see a thing LOL

I tried to attach a photo but it is not working

Do you have a budget set or something, or are you looking to get out as cheap as possible? There is a difference in plug wire quality as you go up the food chain; you're not just paying for a name. Taylor and MSD are both great wires.

Here's my favorite spark plug wires, and they even have a custom fit set for your truck!

I wish my truck had plug wires still just so I cold have a set. These are top shelf products and look downright awesome too!

I do not have a budget per se, nor do I have a high performance truck, it is just a work truck we use at our restaurant. The person at auto zone told me it did not matter since my truck had all stock parts on it and it was not high performance??

I am not sure how the loom holders come apart?

I've tried almost every brand of wire out there, and the ONLY solution I found was Motorcraft wires... I fought misfires for a few years before ponying up the dough and going with Motorcraft, and haven't had an issue since... Check some of my older posts, you'll see what I mean...

Where there's a will..... -

Pop the top off the power steering res; install a dummy distributor cap in it's place. Zip tie opposite end to coil connector.

Seriously, - Best wire set I've ever seen. Looks wise. Yea, they look to be very well constructed. Wonder why the silver sets are more expensive ?

Clicked on the black set, - like those the best. Sort of a different jacket.

Absolutely the best looking wires out there, but they perform too. Back in another day, I was a big Mustang guy...very popular and proven! Don't know why the silver is more though, interesting? I think I'd go blue. Would match my Amsoil air filter and just a tiny bit of bling, but not too much flash to throw things off. But then red would match my Optima....ahhhhh......
