A friend of mine who knows way more about engines than I do is helping me swap out the 300 straight 6 in my '89 F-150. We were just going to rebuild it, but there's way too much wrong with the thing, it's already been a nightmare, and I found a 302 in good condition for less money than the rebuild would cost. So my question (at the moment, I'm sure I'll have more) is this: Will the 302 bolt on to my Mazda M2 tranny, or am I going to have to find a new tranny / transfer case to make this work?

 

Same bolt pattern, should be a reasonably straightforward swap.
