I paid less than that for OEM COP's from Lightning Force Performance and they were shipped over night for free)

That's too bad, I have a whole set (8) of MSD Blasters in the original box with about 1500 miles on them I would let go for $200.00 + shipping

Congrats you've just bought this.....

We tried to tell you....

I've got a out 8-10 sets of accel and msd cops in the shop right now in the garbage......pulled them off of stangs and f150s .......all sets with one or more cop, were causing misfires......

Well, I can't say I blame him or totally disagree with his decision. Regardless of the savings, nothing is more aggravating than unreliability and poor customer service. I've posted my Global experience before, but here's a quick re-cap...

Bad coil. Bought the set from Global. Replaced all 8. Misfire still there. So now I'm thinking "it can't be the coil". $60 for troubleshooting at the dealership because "it can't still be a coil, but I can't find the misfire". Guess what? Bad brand new coil. Replace with an old one. One month/300ish miles later, second coil fails. 6 months later, third coil fails. Tried contacting Global for warranty replacements. After 4 months and several letters and no returned calls, a threat of the BBB and customer complaints with the state attorney generals office finally garnered a return e-mail, and the tone of the e-mail was as if I was bothering him; but he'd replace them if I just absolutely had to have new ones.

Luckily, that was several years ago and I haven't had another one fail, but you can bet I still drive around with two spares behind my seat.

So to me, it's aggravating that this should be acceptable. Yes, you guys are absolutely correct that you get bad coils from anywhere; it can happen, I get it. But I'll be playing the odds myself and will most likely buy a set of MSD's next time it's an issue. Regardless of what I do, I won't go the Global route again. My experience was ridiculous IMO. I'm quite certain I am in the minority, but it is what it is. Just sharing.

Never had a problem with Global Automotive coils. I've been using them since 2005.

There's more people that's had good luck than bad.

Just wondering Jim (jbrew), do you think it's a 3v thing why so many globals are crapping out?? DG-511 v DG-508 2 valve like yours?? Just a thought, seems like the 3v motors are quite picky on most everything.

I've had Global coils on for 2 years/37,000 miles without a problem. Plus I have 2 extras just in case.

Global is not the only Ebay vendor - Uneek Supply has the low-priced coils too - along with several other vendors that we have no feedback on.

Actually, I can't recall any 3 valve problems with 511 replacements. Do you?

Yea, I have nothing coming to mind.

But there's more 508's out there and more time has gone by vs the 511's. Time will tell.

only reason i went with MSD is so i didnt have to wait for coils off of ebay or some other website, and i sure wasnt going to go to the stealership! (almost like that part wasnt read before). im not hard headed, just needed coils so my motor doesnt decide to fall out cuz its shaking so bad and going through a half a tank in less then 150km (100ish miles)

MSD coils work just fine. They may be more reliable then the cheap ones or maybe not. If you can afford it and going with a major brand name makes you feel better or you can get em faster, good they work. They LOOK COOLER thats for sure. Thats why I'd buy em..
