help with f150 ( 1997 ) 4.6 v8

hi peeps, ok just bought a ford f150 ( 1997 ) now then the problem i have is when i park up i seem to have a slight water leak ?? it seems to be coming from somewhere between the engine and gear box area high up,when the engine is hot you can hear it dripping on the exhaust, but it is not coolant because it isnt sweet with anti freeze, its not from the washer bottle so where is it from i spoke with a guy with an f150 and he said it could just be rain water thats holding somewhere, so any truck owners here with the same problem or any ideas where it could be from.

Could be from running AC. Ac removes moisture from the air and it drips out on the passenger side firewall.

No. AC compressor runs when you use the defroster though for the obvious reason that it removes moisture. Have you crawled under and see exactly where its coming from?

do you mean ( defroster ) as in the heater to defrost the windscreen ? and i have crawled under the truck from the passenger side and it is dripping down the exhaust heat shield, when i park up you can hear it dripping on the passenger side exhaust.....if this helps.

If its coming from the passenger side firewall that's the AC drain. Your not loosing coolant or windshield washer fluid? Do you use defrost? it could be from that..

defrost ? is that the setting for heat to clear the windscreen ? sorry for the lame question but you have different meaning to us over the pond.

NO its not a joke, some people say defrost as in the heat setting to defrost the windscreen and others say defrost as in the rear screen, i only joined this website for some helpand information on my new truck, its not my first american car just new to trucks....... sorry if you thought it was a joke !!

Thought for sure it was a joke. You joined a very good Ford Truck Site, -the best IMO, with a chevy for a user name.

Just sayin.

yes mate...lol...my first american was a chevy camaro and the user name stuck even on forums with my g20 dayvan, camaro, and coronet

yes mate it is from the passenger side but i cant see very much underneath as to where it is coming from
