plugs say platinum on the receipt? no brand.. I guess I could pull one to figure that out?
today I pulled the throttle body off cleaned it..main chameber it was pretty nasty the shop only cleaned the upper 1/2??? while I had it off I put my Rousch air intake on... cleaned the MAF yet again and replaced the camshaft position sensor since I had one!
Started her up and ran a series of tests for codes...and nothing but heavy rough idle .
took it for a drive ran it up to 65 (in a 35) with heavy throttle pretty rough off idle and thru 1st gear! and at stop sign feels like it wants to die? idle when warm at a hair over 500RPM! got back and still didnt pull codes? so whats up????

How about CALLING the guy that changed the plugs and asking what brand was used?

Why are you putting an aftermarket intake on an engine that's not running right?

I've had the intake for nearly 4 months now.. at this point figured it could'nt hurt any? besides i had the throttle body removed.... and it was easier to replace Cam sensor...
actually came out ok for the most part... after a 12 mile test run last night I'm only getting a P0306 misfire in #6 and PO316 random misfire? coasting still good, downshift to pass good...really bad shake at idle and off idle... feather gas pedal after coasting on highway really bad shaking... after about 10 miles got flashing CEL and on the way home the CEL was solid! got home and pulled those 2 codes?????

Does the new intake leave the MAF in the same position?

Are you running a custom tune that incorporates that CAI being on the engine? If not, with the 2004, you could be running very lean. Also, if the MAF is not in the same position, it may not read the airflow correctly. I would be very hesitant to put a CAI on a 2004 in the first place and with your existing problems, I sure wouldn't.

I've heard about lean conditions in f150's .. why do the aftermarket BBK throttle bodies not require a tune then? nor do the instructions for the CAL tell you to get a tune for your F150?
do you think that living at 8,500 ft would starve my truck like it does my motorcycle? most people on this site and other sites talk about being able to break tires loose??? never been able to do that... dont really need to either... but seems like my motorcycle... I take it to 3000 feet and she's a hole new bike! anyways not sure how long my 83 Eagle will last being my daily driver? was beginning to think its more fuel related? how difficult is it to replace the injectors? Haynes manual is not overly specific for the non-mechanic like myself???

hey anyone know what the plastic device behind the brake res is ? about 11 o'clock standing in front of the truck... sounds like a hiss of air? may be what its supposed to sound like??? but could be vaccum leak??? thanks

think I figured it out... EVAP Canister Purge Valve? should this be making a sound like a tire blowing air out a nail hole?

Nope. Those quick connect fittings on the evap hoses have o-rings in them. Possible that is were it is leaking from. That will definitely cause issues though. They may have removed one to gain access when doing the plugs. I would check and make sure it connected securely.

Take a look and listen for the leak. Sometimes those quick connectors don't want to latch right or wasn't very secure when they did your plug change. I would imagine you would be getting a code for it though, maybe lean codes or evap codes.

Sparkplugs are Autolite Revolution HT1: Replaced those 2 with Motocrafts! no change!
#5 cylinder plug was 1/2 black and 1/2 tan the #6 cylinder plug was solid black!!!
remember just barely 1,000 miles on these autolites....
pulled all injectors afterwards and they are looking pretty nasty... was going to order remanufacted OEM with a warranty same as new ones for $35 each?? Good or bad idea?
any other ideas are very welcome at this point? oh and I cant figure out how to release the fuel inline spring compression connector... my haynes says refer to section 4 but I'm in section 4?????
