Any filter, that filters anything... shouldn't last the life of the vehicle. I have an audi with a "non serviceable" transmission/fluid. Apparently the germans think they have come up with a fluid that can last the life of the vehicle (or so they want you to think). Funny enough, the make and year that I own, one of it's biggest downfalls is its trans. Known for taking a dump at 100k. Hmmm...
