5.4 misfire code

I keep getting a code that says there is a misfire on cylender #1, but don't know if it is the coil pack or somthing else. I put new plugs and wires in it and it still happens from time to time, can anyone help me?It is a 97 f-150 with a 4.6.

I don't know how that's possible. Since there's no 5.4L's that have plug wires.

Yea, 5.4L's also don't use coil pacs. The older 4.6L's did in the past, - up until about 2000. The V6's also used just one.

The 5.4L's run a COP Ignition system. COP = CoilOnPlug/Wireless. 8 individual coils. A pac = more than one. Since this isn't the case with the 5four's, they're referred to as coil/coils.

Now you know

BTW, fill your info in within "User CP" (Black bar above). It's easier to assist you when your model displays with each post. Like Toyz and mine do, - top right corner.
