5.4 l replacement, what sensors to replace

Replacing the 5.4l 3v in my truck. I'm replacing the cop's, and brand new plugs, but what about other sensors such as cam position sensor, crank sensor, knock sensors, CHT sensor, vct solenoids, etc. Original motor had 147k on it, so I have no problem putting new sensors in, but just want some guidance on the definites to change. Is it a "since the motors out, might as replace them" all kinda thing?

If it were me...I'd put in a "real" oil pressure gauge, direct pressure readings, not a glorified one that only needs 7psi to be "OK"...maybe a A pillar 3 pocket thing with Oil Pressure, engine oil temp and tranny temp.

as for the sensors, cant really address much to that...kinda depends on why your old engine died early???
did it over heat and trash the heads cylinder walls?
or..did the cam phasers unload and plug the oil pump pick screen with fine bits of plastic?

If you want to leave no doubt....do them all

Only need to replace if you had problems with them before IMO.
I just did a swap and replaced the Cam and the Crankshaft sensors, Fuel Pump Driver Module ( above Spare tire) , Fuel Pressure and Temp Sensor, and the Oil sensor in the pan. Besides that everything else was good to go.

I ended up with 16 COPs so I just used 8 that were good( had to replace #4 once the engine was in a working, and replaced the spark Plugs.

Hope this helps a little.

Unless a sensor is bad, you're wasting your money.

If it were me and I were putting in a rebuilt 3v motor especially an early one I would replace all the cam phazer stuff with the updated phazers and all that. You have high enough miles to justify 02 sensor replacement while your in there..
