Thumbs up 35+ MPG on a V8?? It's possible...

I just came across this site while I was surfing the net for another topic. Gas Saving Equipment... The Carburetor: What is it?

Supposedly it's possible, read it and decide for yourself.

Back in the late 60's, I heard second-hand about the Kendig carburetor installed on a 327 Chevy pickup which consistently got 35 mpg. I believe the inventor, Kendig, had a patent on it, but it didn't go anywhere because of the "big oil company money resistance". The carburetor supposedly was extremely reliable as it had only 2 internal moving parts.

Sounds good in theory. Conventional carbs are not set up to handle gaseous fuels. A LPG or NGV injection system could be modified to store gaseous fuels. The gasoline stored in a conventional tank could be heated up down the line and feed into the engine using that system. The kicker would be the heater. I could imagine the first crude ones. "My truck either gets 200,000MPG or it blows up!" or "this is my 10th truck and only my 2nd gallon of gas"

Cool

I've heard a similar rumor to yours, Area 52, but I heard GM bought the rights to the carb, and it is sitting on a shelf in some warehouse never to be seen again.
