Computer not testing EVAP system
Hey Folks,
After repairing my truck and clearing the codes, the EVAP system light is still flashing on an OBD II tester showing that the trucks computer has not tested it. I have drove the truck over 200 miles and it has cooled down and driven until it hit operating temperature at least 5 times putting the 200 miles on it. What could cause it to not test out? The truck has not thrown any more codes.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

IIRC the EVAP is one of the pickiest to reset. It must have all the conditions in order for it to run the test. The amount of fuel, temp, drive cycles, it's just touchy. Might take as many as 10 or 20 drive cycles if conditions aren't met.
There are some smart guys on here (I aint one of them) that might be able to tell you how to speed things up.
Good luck.

Probably getting a Monitor not ready on the code reader, but that's a guess.
Yea, it didn't run yet because conditions haven't been met. Doesn't need to unless your getting smoged in the near future.

Check your Texas requirements. Most states allow one or two incomplete monitors and will still pass the OBDII-based emissions testing.
In the meantime, keep the tank between 1/4 and 3/4 full and drive it normally.
