Thumbs up New Motorcraft Filter

Just picked up a new oil filter from Walmart today. When I looked at the antidrain-back valve it looked like silicone rubber which is a red color.
Sure enough on the front of the box is states "New SILICONE Valve". On the side of the box it says "Motorcraft now offers special silicone components and new designs in the antidrain-back valves for oil filters. The silicone valves retain flexibility throughout the life of the filter. This ensures better oil retention in the filter and faster engine start-up lubrication." Looks like a great filter for $2.97.

That filter has been out for about 3 years, because I used it on my '98 from it's very 1st oil change.

Right now, I'm using a Fram "Tough Guard" with Silicone valve and seal ... also has synthetic media.

I think this is the difference between the say, FL820 and the FL820s.
