My 4.6 blew out a spark plug about 1 1/2 months ago and I went to the parts house and put a threaded insert in it. It held up about three weeks and started bypassing compression. A gentleman at Firestone told me that the Ford house was my only option unless I wanted to tear the engine down and replace the head. After researching I learned of a system called Timesert. It is an expensive kit at about $400.00 for a one time use.
Here is the good news.... Contact one of the users on this forum named Galaxy: https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...13-galaxy.html . He will rent you the kit and you can do it yourself. It worked!
