Engine Stalled and Died

Hey guys, I need some help...

I just installed the DWV/Gotts intake mod using the rubber downspout coupler on my 2008 5.4L Screw with on only 18,500 miles.

On the way home from work today, about 100 yds from my driveway, my truck started to sputter so I pulled over and the engine died. I started it again and it kept sputtering and died again. On the the 4th or 5th start I took off and after 30-40 ft the engine began to run fine again. Now my check engine light is on and I get a LOW OIL PRESSURE message in the mileage/outside temp screen. My oil guage on the dash is reading normal...

What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance...

Any codes?
CEL?

With that low of miles its hard to believe it might be a dirty tb or fuel pump driver control module....fuel filters are supposed to be changed every 15k miles.....could be bad gas...try cleaning the maf...

Don't pay the dealer - Autozone reads codes free.

Checked Code @ Advanced Auto

Advanced Auto checked the code and it was a P0191 - Fuel Rail Pressure. I had them erase it and I guess I'll drive it around and see if it happens again. I changed my fuel filter last Friday and followed the directions provided in the How To section on this site exactly. Would bad gas cause this?

Thanks again...

I'd take a good look at the FPDM, it may be starting to corrode.

Under the truck on the drivers side on the cross member in front of the spare tire.....to look at it thoroughly you'll need to drop the spare tire...

Did you take it off and check the back? Might as well space it off the frame now while you're at it. If not, it will corrode fast due to dissimilar metals and fail on you.

Yes, I took it completely off and used a wire brush to remove the small amount of corrosion already there. Are the longer bolts still only available with the new FPDM? If so, are there any cheaper fixes or other bolts to use?

Thanks again

Your best bet would be to buy some longer bolts and some spacers at the hardware store. You'd spend no more than a couple dollars. Also, if you really want to feel safe. Sand it down and spray it with some clear coat.

^^^ Will do. A local fastener store has the M6 x 1.0 x 30mm for $0.14 a piece. I'll get some washers to act as spacers.

Thanks again guys...
