I have a 04 5.4 3 valve that has 160000 miles on it the truck runs good when driving on the highway but once in awhile at a stop or when it is at an ideal it misses and sputters and has even died always starts right bac up.I have replaced plugs cam sensors and one vct solinoid the truck did this for awhile and never threw a code but now has thrown a code and says basicly one side the cam is advanced and the other side it is retarted when it does this you can give it alittle gas anything over 1000 rpms and it will go back to running fine and the scanner shows the cams are zeroed back out really need help on this thanks in advance ryan

 

I had a rough idle problem that went away after I cleaned my throttle body and MAF. There are some articles in the how to section that describe the process.

You might want to give it a try, the required cleaners are like $8 or so.

 

Please list the exact codes by "P" numbers.

 

cleaned the MAF and throtle body already and cleaned most of the connections and I will post the codes not sure which numbers they were thanks
