Exclamation 4.6 Head Gaskets!!!

Is anyone else having problems with their head gaskets on their 2000/2001 4.6L's? I have just had mine replaced and it is leaking again. My father inlaw is having his motor replaced at fords expense, and his truck only has 7000 Km's on it. I was told mine was the sixth truck since christmas at the ford dealership here to have it's head gasket replaced. It's too bad they could not tell me the problem, just fixed it and told me everything is allright. Unfortunately it lasted on week. Anyone know anything about this? Is it a production run of warped blocks or bad machining? I would really like to know why I cannot keep my truck running!

Thanks

My 99 had to have the 4.6 romeo replaced @ 26k miles. First time head gaskets were replaced. After only a couple thousand miles the leak returned. Went back & they replaced the motor. Gave me a 4 yr/75k mile preminum care extended warrenty also.
Been on this one for 5k miles & no problem(s).

Good Luck

Care

Well, at least FORD's not being ****heads about it. 'Course they can't afford a PR problem right now.

Thumbs down

I had my pass. side replaced at about 10K. Haven't checked to see if it has returned...guess I'll do that this evening.

I'm having my passenger side head gasket replaced too--along with the head. Made a ticking sound --like an exhaust leak.

My '98 4.6 had the passenger side headgasket leak at 13500 miles. I now have a '00 5.4, and praying for better luck.

Any of the leaks occur with that crappy "orange" coolant? I noticed, in my owners manual, that Ford spent about 3 pages "reminding" me to never use the orange coolant. I service a lot of cars and trucks that have the "extended life" (orange) coolant in them and, IMO, the junk sucks. I always find orange "crust" seeping and puking out of strange places ... that I've never seen green coolant coming from.
