Also, you really can't compare, it's impossible to, fairly. - We don't have the same amount of users using one particular brand for proper comparisons. What we have is bunch using Global and Uneeks coils, but the rest is sporadic. We've had users post problems with the high dollar products ie - Accel, Granitelli's, Motorcraft, Moto blue's etc.. NO ONE manufacturer has been able to get away from a bad one out of the box.

Oh, check this out, I wonder if they have them w/gold plating lol (?) - http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...40180/10002/-1

Thank all of you guys for replying...and man this a really hard decision to make I wish that all the cops from the manufacterers actually worked so no one would have all the problems a lot of you guys have had...I have no clue what to do im willing to pay a big price but than what if they don't work and than I don't want to go so cheap because what if I will have to keep ordering and ordering until I finally get a pack where they all work...tough decision indeed in my opinion

If I had to pick another, other than what I've used already, it would be MSD's.

MSD's have a good record, - it's just that they're not as common so there isn't much of one. They cost more, but yea, nothing bad has been reported, so far.

Because every website that I go to says neither fit my truck the only one website that says one fits is summitracing.com but that kind of scares me because how is all the other websites going to say they don't fit but just summitracing doesnt

Well, post some Links lol.

DG 508's fit any and all 2 valve engines.

DG 511's for the 3 valve.

Post a link of what your referring to ,exactly. I mean that's why you didn't get answer IMO.

when you go to summit for engine parts dont type in the package(lariat in this case) it takes away alot of the correct parts. looks like you need the 82438

The best thing to do is to go to Ebay and type in DG-508 and then DG-511 and compare the two coils. The most determining factor is where the top low voltage connector angles out. The 3v DG-511) engines come out almost straight up where the 2v (DG-508) engine comes out at almost a 45 deg angle. The coils are mostly the same otherwise, it's just tough plugging in the 508 where the 511 belongs (wiring harness restrictions). I think "MATS FORD" is correct in the MSD-82438 being the one you need, that is the set my 07 takes

Call MSD for the correct application. That's what I did, and I've been happy with their coils on my '05 5.4. I've used MSD products on many vehicles over the years, and been very happy. Reputation counts for something. I'll pay for peace of mind.

Ok...I have a dirty little secret, but I'll share for the OP. Three days ago I replaced my plugs with the champions and a set of MSD # 82438. Mind you I'm one of the ones with bad luck with the E-3's. Also for the last 10,000 mi give or take, I have had a very low grade misfire at times even with the motorcraft SP-515 (this truck only has 34,000 mi on it). now, it's only been a few days and very few miles, but I can say, as of right now anyway. The Champion plugs and the MSD coils has made a 100% improvement. No more 'roughness' at any RPM. And ,yes the MAF has been cleaned and the Filter was changed, but the plug/cop change has changed this 5.4 completely (so far). So..for the OP...GO For It !!!

Maby it's possible that I had one or two 'weak' coils from the start..don't know. I have had a set of uneeks and weapon-x in there, only these MSD's have made a difference..and NEVER any CEL. you may be right on the longevity with these..time will tell..thanks for the feedback 61

In my experience, cheap aftermarket ebay coils (COP Systems Specific) last longer than dealership Motorcraft coils. I have a milk crate full of flakey Motorcraft coils, - yellow labels, green labels and white stampeded factory coils... I've worked on Fords for 35 years, owned and built quite a few. I've been a member here for awhile, contributed a ton of information and soaked up quite a bit along the way. I've worked on and fixed vehicles a few dealerships fell short on lol. I haven't had one Ebay coil go bad yet. I've been using them for myself and others since 2005.

For the price they absolutely cannot be beat. I've used them in my work van and so far no failures. I bought the more expensive Motoblues for my truck and so far 2 have failed.
