Help with price of motor...

I have a 97 5.4l, in running condition, with wire harness... also have PI heads, PI intake and shorty headers for that same motor... What would be a fair price for all of that combined?

Did you buy it to put in your truck?

I sold a set of PI heads with cams for 200 bucks. Depends on the year and what kind of shape there in.
PI intake around 80 to 100 bucks.
Wire-harness about 35 bucks.
How many miles are on the motor?
Dose it still have the NPI heads on it?

Phil

That's low miles for that motor.
You should be able to get over 1000 bucks for that.

You can look on ebay and see what there going for and most of them have a lot more miles on them.

What shape are the PI heads in?
I just got rid of the ones I had cause I needed money. But if there decent, you should be able to get 300 or more.

Excellent shape...I've got everything listed for $1200 on craigslist, only one guy responded and said it was too much... That's when I decided to check you guys on here...The only thing missing from all this being a complete install is the PCM...

Hmm, if the selling point is the PI heads that come with it, theres still work involved for someone. The heads need to be checked before mated to the block depending on the shape, new gaskets, head bolts (might as well do timing components while your in there) etc... If it were a straight up PI motor with 45k, I would say its worth 1200-1500. But since its a non PI engine, with spare PI heads, intake and shorty headers... I would say maybe about 1000-1200 on a good day. Don't let people on craigslist talk you down. I had a truck for sale for 8k and had a guy offer me 2500, then argue with me after I laughed at him, which turned into threats.

There are some people that expect everything for free. It's not a garage sale. But, theres not a ton of people hunting down a non PI motor with spare PI heads.. Most would just look for a PI motor for 1200 and not have to touch it. Youll probably get people wanting to separate and only want the heads, thats up to you.

Theres really nothing wrong with the non pi motor if your just looking for a good low miles replacement engine. I have a non pi motor in my E350 van and its been totally reliable if I were looking to replace that engine I'd ****** up just the engine with the stock head and not screw around with it. Advertise just the engine on CL or other local classified I'd ask $1300 for it.

Dang, Jbrew, looks like what I'm offering is a great deal compared to the prices I've seen on there...
