~ RoushCharger on 4x4

Im posting this in here since I did not get any input from the other thread...

Given the recent price cut on the Non-Intercooled ROUSHcharger I am really debating the purchase.

Background: I own 2 fast mustangs already, Im not looking for super quick here on this truck.....I do want some more pickup and go and I do have intentions are towing a boat down the road. I do understand the difference that the non-intercooled version is going to produce more heat and be less power. (but the intercooled version is damn near twice the price)

Few questions for debate:
1. Is it going to be beneficial on a 4x4 heavy sled like this truck?
2. What should I look into installing before/along with this supercharger?
3. AM I better off getting a set of Cams installed and save the coin?

* Going for the Colder plugs & ROUSH Boost Gauge vent pod already ...plus I have an SCT already for programming purposes *

cams will not yield the same gains as the supercharger, YES the additional torque will make the truck more fun to drive and better for towing...

upgrade it to 10-12#, custom tune larger h/e and a better i/c pump

Hi.

A good read - one of many, many on the non I/C RoushCharger.

==> https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...-ic-roush.html

PM Marc for more details - he had years of fun with trhat truck!

As TJ-The-Terrible said a custom tune is CRUCIAL. The Roush tune is very conservative and limiting.

For an idea of just HOW crucial, really absorb the info in the first link below ...

But to wet yer whistle - here's an excerpt:

"The most incredible thing about the custom tuning is we gained roughly 155 RWHP and 200 ft/lbs RW torque over the what the Roush tune provided at the rpm ranges beyond the boost dump! This shows you what can be accomplished with proper custom tuning."

Other links of interest:

^^ Those may sway you towards considering an I/C version.
