Question Sputtering before shifting into second?

So my question is on my 05 5.4. When I hammer the accelerator from a stop the truck loses power and sputters before shifting into second gear almost like the rev limiter is kicking in. It is only hitting about 3100 rpm. It only happens from 1st to second and dosent do it when driving normal. It has 86000mi and at this time is bone stock on motor. It has been completely demodded since 50k with no issues until now. Idk if I need to change plugs or what but I always get great advice from u guys. Any thoughts on what this might be caused by? Thanks, Jay.

So when I jumped in it this morning I tested the issue again hoping that it was a fluke and would correct itself with wishful thinking. Not the case. It is a little frustrating because once I get one truck up and running good the other has an issue. I guess I just need to figure out which one I enjoy driving more.

Any maintenance history on it in the 86k miles it has? Fuel filter, plugs, any cleaning.. etc.. no CEL when its missing that hard? Is it flashing while its misfiring like that?

Well I cleaned the MAF about 10k miles ago, Fuel filter changed 3k miles ago, plugs have never been changed. New air filter..... not oiled. No CEL even when missing, no flashing, nada darn thing. I am lost. The only thing that came to mind was the plugs but IDK. Tranny is due for a fluid change. Engine oil changed every 3k mi full syn. I have used Lucas additive in the past, about once every oil change in the gas. I had an issue with the injector in cyl 3 that was replaced by the dealership about 4k miles ago. It stuck open as some do and flooded the cyl, not sure if that gas logged the plug and ruined it but I am sure the plug was not changed when the injector was.

I wonder if that stuck injector overheated the cats and they are now plugged up?

You are essentially overdue for new plugs at 86k - Ford is recommending 60k changes now on the 5.4 3v.

That was my personal opinion on the plugs even after I read the original recommendation for 100K. The injector stuck for maybe 30 seconds before I realized something was wrong and I found a good place to pull over and get the truck out of the way for the next day and a half. I was on my way to the fire station for my shift and had my wife come pick me up and drive me the rest of the way in. The truck sat for 36 hrs and then was towed into the dealership, 28miles from in the middle of nowhere.

Anyone have any other ideas on what might be causing this?

Have you changed the plugs and had the cats checked for blockage?
