Inside of the frame right under the driver. There are some good instructions on changing the filter in the Articles and How To section. Check the index.

I do mine once a year. Guess it depends where you get your gas on how dirty it is.

Welcome to the Forums, lots of good stuff around here

i was really amazed at all the junk in the filter, it looked like little chunks of rust, changing my plugs next weekend if the weather permits.
maybe i will be able to get above 15 mpg now? i was getting around 18-19 on the highway till i hit 30000 miles then it went to 15 no matter where i drove or how i drove.

Could be that where you buy gas started using the 10% ethanol blend. You will lose close to 10% with ethanol. Also, could you have changed tire size?

That ethanol can act as a solvent, breaking loose nasties in the tank at the least. I've had issues with what I think was water in the gas lately. From what I have read, ethanol attracts water unlike regular gasses that repel it.

Your K&N oil may have fouled the MAF sensor - clean it.

Personally, I'd put the stock intake back on and do a DWV/Gotts mod to it - and use a dry paper filter.

Since no one has mentioned it yet in this thread......be sure to get/use the fuel line disconnect tool and follow instructions in the "how to" thread to change your filter. Its simple once you get the hang of it, but you can damage your fuel line if you aren't careful to use correct tool and follow instructions.
