I have a 1997 f150 4.6 that i just recently did an engine swap in. I can turn the key and nothing happens but if i leave the key on on jump the soleniod it will run. I have done a little research and i have come to the conclusion that my starter interupt relay is tripped any ideas? or where is it located

You don't have a starter interrupt relay on your truck unless one was installed aftermarket.

Start by checking fuse F21 under the dash.

Manual or automatic transmission?

Are you jumping at the starter relay or the starter solenoid (they're different...)?

The relay is on the firewall, the solenoid is piggy-backed on the starter motor.

Check your connector for the DTR sensor on the transmission. Verify the DTR sensor is properly aligned. Try cranking with the selector in neutral, wiggle the shift lever while trying to crank and see if it "hits" in an unusual position (observe caution, this has the potential for very unexpected transmission engagement).
