I just purchased a 96 Lincoln with the 4.6 in it. Im about to change the oil in it and the oil cap says 5w30. Should i run this or did ford change the oil recomendations later on to 5w20? Thanks guy

edit I meant 96 for the title not 98.

I believe the back spec goes back to 96 and earlier - you can use either. My son in law is using 5W30 in his 98 F-150 4.6 because it burns some oil, it has 170k on it.
