Steve, I understrand where you;re coming from but your truck has a cable going to the throttle body. This is only for drive by wire TB.

I keep meaning to try this but mine doesn't seem too bad.

Can you still do this if say you have a Gryphon and custom tunes?

I have SCT tunes and while my throttle was not MUCH improved from the tunes, I still noticed a difference in my butt dyno from doing this neat little trick. But like 88racing said, I may just prob go back and set it to stock, do the Diamondbird and then reload my tunes.

Either it works, and it is free and easy and you really have nothing to lose my simply trying it!

Thanks Blackout for trying it out and giving it your veteran seal of approval!

OK so here are results:
Before I did this I could spin the tires a little bit when going straight from a stop, but I have 3.55 gears, so it was nothing amazing. I also noticed that it took a second after I hit the gas for it to work. After I did this, the tires spun much quicker, and spun all the way through the gear while in drive. Once the tranny started shifting I let off the gas, so I don't know if it would work in second also, but I wouldn't be surprised. My truck also has much better pick up while trying to pass now.

That little detail needs to be edited into the original post, and the thread title. Right now, it just says EFI, and my '95 engine has EFI.

So will this only on 2009+ or will it work on 2004-2008 too?

As far as I know from guys who have tried it, this mod will work on ANY fuel injected vehicle from your F150, to your BMW, or your motorcycle.

I actually first read about this in a 2004-2008 F150 subForum. So to answer your question, YES, it will work on your 2004-2008 vehicle.

To my knowledge, *and I may be wrong*, BUT this should work on any vehicle that has electronic fuel injected computer monitored engine. This is NOT F-150 specific. You can do this on any vehicle that meets the above qualification.

See this thread for more details. It is long, but very informative and should remove any hesitation that you may have about doing this.

And if your F150 is already functioning fine or close to it, it is likely that you may not notice that much of a difference, especially if you have a newer vehicle. But it still doesn't hurt to give it a try and see, and hopefully be pleasantly surprised!

Oh, and sorry for all the posts but I forgot about this.

Make sure that your gas pedal is not hitting the firewall as this will prevent you from being able to get to WOT. Here is how to fix it if it is indeed hitting the firewall:

ok look at ur gas pedal (from the floorboard)
you will see it has 3 bolts holding in the bracket
loosen the bolts a bit
pull the pedal assembly out( away from fire wall)
it will only move a fraction of an inch
hold and retighten the bolts and nuts
you will need 2 10m wrenches, a ratcheting wrench is better

the prob is the pedal is hitting the firewall before wot
after adjustment u should be able to press it all the way down and not hit the firewall

then do the key on press pedal thing

I guarantee you it doesn't affect any EEC-IV vehicles, and probably not any with a throttle cable. If it does anything (and I'm not saying it does), it would only affect those with a sensor directly on the gas pedal.

I honestly couldn't tell you what vehicles it works on except my 2010 F150 & 2009 Tacoma that I did this on and it did make an improvement with acceleration.. If it doesn't work on your vehicle it too bad because it's pretty cool.

Another way to look at it is: it sucks that you have to do that to make yours work right - mine just works right all the time.
