Running lean

Okay, so yesterday I started up my truck and the check engine light came on. The truck is running completely fine but I still wanted to get it checked so I stopped by Advance to get a quick look. The tester said it was throwing a running lean code but I can't feel any difference in the truck so I'm assuming its something minor? Had it cleared and it popped back up later today. Is there any quick fixes that I can try and do to see if it fixes the problem? Thanks for your help guys!

id say check for vac leaks possibly the elbow on the back of the intake(they crack easlily) also get a fuel pressure reading could be as simple as needing a filter change

Which bank, 1 or 2 ? which codes set 1100's or 170's. You need to write down the DTC's so we have something to go by. Also, that way you can punch in the DTC in the engines search bar and get all the info you want. That works the quickest, but yea, you need the code or your 1/2 blind in this case.

Okay so I went back today and the only code that is said was P0171. That's the only thing their hand held said. Is that enough information? Thanks.

That is lean bank 1 (passenger side) - check for vacuum leaks - especially the PCV system and its elbow at the back of the intake manifold. Could also be an exhaust leak throwing things out of whack.

Okay. Do you have any pictures of the PCV system? I think I found some on the internet but I'm not exactly positive. I'll be sure to check the exhaust too to see if there is any leaks. I guess I may have to do the smoke test in the exhaust. Not sure if thats what its called but I think you know what I'm talking about.

Just reach your hand on the back of the throttle body where the PVC vacuum line, has a rubber elbow that runs into the base of the throttle body. It rots out and is commonly the issue with those codes.
