truck cutting off while driving?

ok, so when i installed the gotts modd on my gtruck, when I went to stop at a sign or light, every once in a while it would cut right off. well, after a while it corrected itself. now i added a superchips programmer to correct tirer size (35s) and its doing it again. i know there is a learning curve the commputer has to go through but is it normal for the truck to cut completely off? last night i thought i was going to hit the carr stopped at the stop sign i was turning at because i lost power steering?! yikes!

Hi.

What, exactly, did you do?

This mod will not cause these issues - ensure nothing is loose / disconnected, etc.

Then, drop the spare and check the condition of yer FPDM... https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...placement.html

(BTW - any codes pulled via the programmer? Any little 'yellow wrenches' on yer cluster (failsafe)?)

no lights in the dash, it also did this when i installed the gotts mod but after a tank of gas it straightened itself up. now its doing it again since i programmed it. i didnt put the performance tune on it because i have 87 octane in the tank right now. so i used the 87 octane setting and changed the tire siz to 35. thats all i did. when i come to a stop it tachs low and the headlights dim before it cuts off. it has cut off 4 times so far. any suggestions?

This happened to me right at 53k miles. It turned out to be sensors on the throttle body. The choice was mine, new throttle body or try and replace sensors....I went cheap and haven't had a problem since. Currently 105k.....

Yep - which usualy triggers failsafe and a 'little yellow wrench' symbol - and codes stored.

A complete and accurate description of what exactly occurred is kinda crucial to diagnosis - so far this info has just been trickling in ...

Ok, what u guys are saying makes sense, because I also installed an airaid t/b spacer at the same time as the gotts mod. I was thinking that it just took some time for the computer to recalibrate. But there is no yellow light showing and superchips isn't picking up any codes. Guess ill wait for a light to show?!

Hey quick question, is there any way to clean the sensors from the airbox to the t/b? Maybe just dirty?

You must be talking about the MAF (mass air flow) sensor and yes, you can clean them. There are plenty of write ups on how to properly clean the sensor.

Why? They don't do anything but make noise. Get rid of it.

airaid replacement filter
Oiled filter? That can foul the MAF.

The P1000 only means that all monitored sensors are not ready. It will clear after the appropriate drive cycles are complete.
