Could it be the ignition switch?

I have an 04 FX4. Here's what is happening....

When I turn the key to start the truck it will not start. All dash lights light up normal. However, if I begin to turn the key back slowly to the original position, the truck will start. I can get this to happen every time.

Would this be pointing to an issue with the ignition switch? If so, is it hard to replace the switch myself? I'm the DIY kind of guy and have completed basic auto repairs (Brakes & rotors, water pump and starter). However, I'm not sure what it takes to change an ignition switch.

Thanks in advance,

RJ

It sounds like it, and if so, it is easy to replace. I remember having to turn the key to a certain spot and stick a thin poker in the hole to pop it out. I could figure it out if I had to but explaining it now is hard. You may need to go to the dealer to have the key reconfigured I think (04 and newer have PATS?), but it should be really easy. Take the steering column plastic away first I'm thinking. Anyone else wanna run with this, I'm sinking!!!

That's what it sounds like to me.
