Does anybody know what this noise is?

it could be a lot of things give a better description of your problem etc.

 

it almost sounds like a diesel when its on idle but goes away if you give it gas. is it the lifters? some one told me if you use the wrong weight oil it can mess it up. just had the oil changed with motorcraft 5-20 and motorcraft filter.

 

it's not very loud just mostly here it when you are beside the fender well.

 

i am no expert on this but it could be cam phasers or possible an fuel injector noise do a search there's a lot of info on both of these items and i bet you will find the answer to your problem.
