Hiccup when punching the throttle

2006 5.4 Lariat: I've had trouble lately with the truck jumping or hiccuping when I accelerate hard. If I punch it off the line it's fine. When I'm at 30 and above and kick it, the truck hiccups and finally accelerates. I only have 65k miles on it but I'm getting ready to change the plugs soon. I changed the fuel filter and it did nothing. I do the regular maintenance and have changed the fuel filter every 15k miles. Any ideas? Plugs? Injectors? No codes. Also noticed gas mileage down to about 13 from 16 mpg. O2 sensors would throw a code right?

My 06 is doing the same thing. I will be crusing down the road and punch it, and it will just stumble and backfire till it decides to take off. i wish that it would just throw a code to make my life eaiser.

69k miles changed the fuel filter at 65k(i got the truck with 62K)

i am dreading doing the plug change but i know that it needs to be done

My 07 5.4 did/does the same thing. It started at 24k. I'll punch it, and shortly after takeoff it'll kill out for a second then rev up again. Also changed the fuel filter, and have performed regular maintenance on it. No codes, no nothing.. It only does it once in a while. But it still upsets me.
